Frequently Asked Questions
Is this a cruise or a transport service?
No. Geneva Sunset Sailing operates as a sailing school. Each session is a structured sailing initiation and training experience, focused on learning sailing fundamentals and safety on board.
Will there be time to enjoy the lake and relax on board?
Yes, absolutely. While the session is structured as a sailing initiation, it naturally includes moments to observe the lake, enjoy the surroundings and relax on board. Sailing involves periods of explanation, observation and calm navigation, which allow participants to experience Lake Geneva in a relaxed and unhurried way — always within the context of a learning experience.
Do I need previous sailing experience?
No prior experience is required. The sailing initiation is designed for
beginners and curious participants who want to understand how sailing works
from the ground up.
How many people are on board?
Sessions are limited to a maximum of five participants, plus the skipper. This ensures a calm environment and allows for personal guidance throughout the initiation.
Is the session very technical?
No. The initiation balances explanation, guided practice and calm time on board.
The goal is to learn while enjoying the sailing environment in a relaxed way.
What is included in the sailing initiation?
The session includes on-board instruction, guided practice, a safety briefing and light refreshments. The focus remains on learning and understanding
sailing fundamentals.
Can we book a private group?
Yes. Private group sailing initiations are available, provided they respect the educational format and participant limits of the sailing school.
What happens if the weather is not suitable?
Safety always comes first. If weather conditions are not suitable for a sailing initiation, the session may be rescheduled or adapted accordingly.
